As I walked down the wet road
Heading towards home again
I couldn't believe she left me
What happened?
The night was sympathetic
The soothing wind comforted my face
The millions of stars gathered together to support me
And the moon looked down gently from
Her black velvet throne in the sky.
The wind picked up
And began to cry
Leaving cool raindrops on my cheek,
A lonely pilot glided across leaving the
Sky hissing.
The shock of her departure
Left me in the numbing state of shock,
All the gifts,
All the time,
All the love.
A car growled by, pretty fast
Disrupting the peace,
As it left silence slowly returned,
I was nearly home.
I walked down the road
The little happiness I had
Was drained as soon as
I put the key in the door
Now it seemed more real.
The only thing I had to do now was go on,
Alone.
